Memes: Insecure Dabo Swinney Made His Secretaries Watch Film To Convince Them Clemson Is Still Elite

Dabo Swinney is apparently taking his season ending loss to South Carolina badly. To the point where he made everyone in the Clemson football building re-watch the film to show them why the Tigers couldn’t come out on top against the unranked Gamecocks.

It was a crushing defeat for Clemson, who’d beaten their archrival for seven straight seasons.

The setback successfully ended the program’s College Football Playoff hopes while also ending an impressive 40-game home winning streak in Death Valley.

But it seems he’s taken the upset a little too hard.

In a recent interview on Gramlich and Mac Lain, Dabo Swinney said that he made his entire staff, secretaries included, watch the film of the Tigers’ latest loss.

“This doesn’t happen often, because we don’t lose a lot of games, but in our ‘Mental Monday’ meeting, I made everybody in the building, from the secretaries to the administrative staff, everybody in the building had to watch the tape. We watched it all together.”

For two hours, Dabo Swinney forced everyone in the building to relive the devastating loss from Saturday. Why, you ask? Essentially to show them what could have been.

“Honestly thought we had the better team, but the better team doesn’t always win… Everyone on the outside thinks they know, but they ain’t got a freaking clue. Everyone needs to know what’s real… You gotta deserve to win. I pulled out the plays offensively, defensively, special teams. I said, ‘Ok, let’s talk about it.'”

He’s right, to an extent. Fans and media overreact at the drop of a hat or run with a quote (as I am right now). But damn, that seems excessive. Does the administrative staff really need to see what went wrong on 2nd and 3 from the 46-yard line with 8:48 seconds left in the second quarter?

The reaction to the interview on Twitter was priceless.

One person joked, “Meanwhile the janitor just wants to go home and help his wife with dinner for the kids but can’t leave because Dabo Swinney wants him to learn the truth about why Clemson lost.”

But wait, there’s more…

Swinney hopefully flushed that loss after Monday’s film review as he preps for another ACC title opportunity against North Carolina. From the sounds of it, though, the Clemson faithful hasn’t taken the upset well.
