51-year-old Sandra Mayfield is currently behind bars after having been charged with having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old high school student. According to court documents obtained by News9.com, Mayfield met with the student in a parking lot around 8:30 p.m. on February 27th, and the two “drove around Oklahoma City and Nichols Hills for a while before walking around downtown.
” Had the encounter stopped there, Mayfield could have possibly avoided charges had it not been for what allegedly happened next:Surveillance cameras from downtown buildings captured the two kissing and hugging. Cell tower information also corroborated the teen’s story.
Around 1 a.m. the teen said Mayfield drove him to Buck Thomas Park on NE 12 St. in Moore. It was at the park that the victim told police Mayfield performed oral sex on him.
Mayfield has since been placed on administrative leave and was booked into the Cleveland County Jail on Tuesday afternoon.
A statement issued by Moore Public Schools Director of Safety and Security Dustin Horstkoetter read that law enforcement was “immediately contacted by the District” upon catching wind of “possible improper behavior” and that the charges filed against Mayfield “are shocking and upsetting and are not representative of the hundreds of other teacher who work hard every day to provide a safe and quality education for the students in the Moore Public School District.”
