The Masters Tournament has produced some of the greatest moments in golf history. The tournament, held the second weekend of April every year at Augusta National, is arguably the most prestigious tournament in the world of golf, with the winner receiving a green jacket in lieu of a trophy.
Some of the game’s greats have dominated the event. Jack Nicklaus has won six, Tiger Woods has won five, Arnold Palmer has won four, and players like Phil Mickelson, Gary Player, Nick Faldo, and Sam Snead all have three.
And, one of today’s top players who looks like he could be a future Masters champion is Jon Rahm. The 28-year-old Spaniard and 2021 US Open Champion has been world number one in the past and came into this year’s tournament with the third-best odds at +900.
But, the third ranked player in the world got off to an absolutely terrible start, as the first hole did not go his way. After hitting the green in regulation in what looked to be an upcoming routine par, Rahm four-putted for a double bogey.

Yeah, that’s not the way to start the tournament. It brought back memories of Ernie Els’ disaster at the Masters in 2016.

Naturally, the memes were out for Rahm’s disaster at the Masters.

Luckily, he bounced back well, and made birdies and the 2nd hole and 3rd hole to get back to even par. There’s a lot of golf left in this year’s Masters.
