WWE rules don’t apply to The Rock, and that’s apparently rubbing other wrestlers the wrong way.
Since his return, The Rock has delivered plenty of profanity-laced promos on social media during the lead-up to WrestleMania.
While The Rock is cursing up a storm, the WWE brass reportedly sent an internal memo telling wrestlers to keep things PG.
“I can exclusively report that a recent memo emphasized the need for talent to follow PG guidelines on TV and social media. Despite this, The Rock’s use of profanity, like in a recent promo, has raised questions among talent about double standards. They wonder why he’s allowed to curse while others aren’t.”
According to Varble, wrestlers are annoyed at the fact that The Rock can do whatever he wants in his promos, and they can’t.
“I am told that a lot of the talent are asking why Rock gets a pass, and no one else is allowed to curse. The thinking is that even if he is the big movie star, shouldn’t everyone play by the same rules? So he can curse and use that to get over, but everyone else is handcuffed?”
WWE higher-ups sent out a memo a few weeks ago to talent, reminding them that they need to stick to PG language, even on social media.
Then The Rock gets to drop as many F bombs as he wants to online, even on live television. Now, there is a problem.

It’s understandable why wrestlers would be frustrated, but The Rock has taken an executive role within the company and is clearly playing by his own rules due to how much power he has.
