As the ole internet joke goes, “You’re telling me Dua Lipa fried that shrimp?” Well, not exactly.
While the 28-year-old pop star can basically do no wrong these days, the “Levitating” singer did recently get called out for sharing a video of herself apparently pretending to cook shrimp on a grill.

At the time of this writing, a video of Lipa at the BBQ has racked up over 83,000 likes and 5,900 quote tweets, with many of those QTs being about how absurd it is to pretend to grill shrimp for social media.
does she know that it’s suppose to produce heat when used correctly?? https://t.co/tCEGGgzq5K

In fact, people are clowning on the social media account for even sharing the video in the first place.
Idk what’s funnier this caption or the fact that the grill isn’t on https://t.co/4UF4GDmriW

One Twitter user hilariously suggested that Lipa was engaging in cannibalism given her recent role as Mermaid Barbie in Greta Gerwig’s billion-dollar-plus-grossing film Barbie alongside Margot Robbie. In addition to playing Mermaid Barbie, Lipa also recorded the soundtrack’s lead single, “Dance the Night”

Following her appearance in Barbie, Lipa will continue work on her still-untitled third studio album, which is set to release either later this year or early next year.
Lipa’s next album will be her first since 2020’s Future Nostalgia, which went on to win a Grammy Award and elevate Lipa to an entirely new stratosphere of fame thanks to hit singles like “Don’t Stop Now”, “Physical”, “Break My Heart”, and the aforementioned “Levitating”. Prior to Future Nostalgia, Lipa released her self-titled debut record three years earlier in 2017.
She also has another film role in a few months as she’ll be featured in Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle alongside the likes of Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, Samuel L. Jackson, John Cena, Ariana DeBose, and Rob Delaney.
