Ben Roethlisberger Expresses Regret For Publicly Calling Out Antonio Brown’s Route Running Last Season Because It ‘Ruined A Friendship’

This offseason, the public has gotten a hefty dose of how big of a pain in the ass Antonio Brown can be.

Ben Roethlisberger, who is hard-headed in his own right, spent eight season throwing to Brown and helping him ascend to one of the game’s best receivers.

Whatever chemistry the two built throughout the years all vanished last season after Roethlisberger called out Antonio Brown for allegedly running a shitty route near the goal line, resulting in a late-game interception and a Week 12 loss.

Antonio Brown ended up sitting out in Week 16 and demanding a trade from the only NFL team he’s ever known.

Roethlisberger sat down with NBC Sports’ Michele Tafoya on Sunday Night Football and expressed regrets about dressing AB down in public, revealing that it “ruined a friendship.”

“I wish I wouldn’t have done it,” the Steelers QB said. “I just got caught up in the emotion and heat of the battle.”

Roethlisberger publicly expressed regret for calling out AB during a radio interview in May, but his wide receiver responded simply with “Two face.”

Brown was extremely critical of his quarterback during his appearance on HBO’s The Shop in March as well.

It’s a damn crying shame the Steelers don’t play the Raiders this upcoming season. Damn the football gods.
