‘Blonde’ Has Finally Hit Netflix And Movie Fans Are Largely Disgusted By It

Netflix/Plan B Entertainment

After the entire year was virtually filled with nonstop discourse about Andrew Dominik’s Blonde, the NC-17-rated film about Marilyn Monroe that stars Ana de Armas has finally hit Netflix, and movie fans largely hate it.

Movie fans are absolutely crushing Andrew Dominik’s Marilyn Monroe movie Blonde for being disrespectful and exploitative

Blonde is a horrible movie please don’t watch it,” warned one Twitter user.

Don’t Worry Darling and Blonde in the same week is enough to kill a man,” joked another Twitter user.

“Don’t watch Blonde, don’t watch the Dahmer show, don’t let Netflix think people actually want this stuff and instead stream content you actually want to see more of so they know what you actually want from them,” tweeted a frustrated Netflix subscriber.

Despite the poor reception to the film itself, many movie fans came away quite impressed with Ana de Armas’ performance as the legendary actress and model. Whether or not she’ll contend for an Academy Award is another story, though, especially considering how reviled Blonde seems to be.

Dominik, to his credit (?), likely saw this reaction coming as he said earlier this year that the film will “offend everyone.”

“It’s a demanding movie,” Dominik said of Blonde. “If the audience doesn’t like it, that’s the f—ing audience’s problem. It’s not running for public office. It’s an NC-17 movie about Marilyn Monroe, it’s kind of what you want, right? I want to go and see the NC-17 version of the Marilyn Monroe story.”

Blonde, which also stars Bobby Cannavale as Joe DiMaggio, Adrien Brody as Arthur Miller, and Julianne Nicholson as Gladys Pearl Baker, is now streaming on Netflix.
