Daniel Abesames-Hammer is the nation’s smallest college football player. Standing just 5-foot-1 and weighing 128 pounds, the Cornell College running back is showing viewers exactly what it’s like to play at his size.
The ball carrier has posted a variety of POV clips to his TikTok account giving followers an inside look at how he navigates through a massive offensive line.
Abesames-Hammer plays his ball for Division III program Cornell College in Iowa. The back has been toting the rock at the collegiate level since 2021, according to his athletic department bio.
Over the last three seasons, he’s appeared in 21 games where he’s averaged 4.6 yards per carry. The Rams’ second-leading rusher this year, he’s showing that his short stature doesn’t limit production.
We’ve seen small backs have success in the past. Look no further than Cowboys rusher Deuce Vaughn, who stands just 5-foot-6 and is already getting heckled by Dallas teammates and fans for looking like a child on the field.
