Is this the end of the dynasty for Golden State? The Warriors face elimination in a do-or-die game 6 against the Lakers in the western conference semifinals.
This Lakers vs Warriors series reminds me of the friend we all have. The one guy in every friend group that is totally unpredictable. The friend that you have to be careful taking out because you never know what they might do or say.
They could end up becoming best friends with everyone in the bar, or they could end up getting in a fight with a soccer mom over the right way to pronounce the word “GIF.” You just never know what you’re going to get, and so far, this series has felt like that.
There have been times in the series when Anthony Davis plays to his full ability and the Lakers look unstoppable. But there are also times when the Warriors literally cannot miss, and you start to wonder if they are back to the same team that has won 4 rings. The one thing that is constant in this series is the unpredictability of not knowing who will show up and who won’t.
Moving onto predictions for game 6, I think we see the best of both teams. This is essentially a game 7 because if the Warriors win it’s going to be close to impossible to beat them at home in an actual Game 7.
But if you’re a Lakers fan there is some good news because they have won 8 straight games at home dating back to April. They play a lot better at home especially their supporting players, like Austin Reaves and Lonnie Walker.
On the other hand, if you’re a Warriors fan you have to be excited about their performance Wednesday. Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins both had great games offensively, which forces the Lakers to have to respect them and in return, leads to more space for Steph Curry to operate.
I expect this game to be high scoring and be played at a fast pace, which does favor the Warriors. I think Anthony Davis and Lebron will both have big nights, but I think the difference maker in this game will be Steph Curry.
He will be looking to establish himself early and I think he has another huge performance like he did when he put up 50 in game 7 against the Kings. Although I think it will come down to the wire, I think the Warriors push the pace, and do just enough on the offensive end to sneak out of there with a win.
