The college football world suffered a tragic loss this week.
Mississippi State head football coach Mike Leach died earlier this week as a result of a complication stemming from a heart condition.
The news rocked the college football world and fans, players, and coaches flooded social media with stories about the coach and clips of their favorite Leach moments.
However, it seems some weren’t effected by his passing in quite the same way. Instead, it appears they saw it as an opportunity to improve their own football programs.
According to Steve Robertson, he is hearing reports that coaches of some programs are using third parties to approach players about entering the transfer portal in the wake of Leach’s death.
Getting some reports of some college coaches working through third parties to try and get some Mississippi State football players to enter the transfer portal. If you’re doing this, then you are a disgusting human being. If I get evidence to support this, I will make you famous.

There are times in any sport where you do what you have to do to give your team the best chance to land the players you want and to have the best chance of winning. It’s just the nature of competition.
This isn’t one of those times. This is simply gross behavior by whichever coaches are trying to poach these kids.
There hasn’t even been a funeral for Mike Leach yet. The kids on the Mississippi State football team have barely had the chance to mourn the loss of their coach. It is way too soon for anybody to be trying to lure them away from the program.
Hopefully these kids aren’t convinced and maybe even shed some light on who is making these heartless moves. It would be kind of great to see this end up hurting those teams’ recruiting classes.
to whoever these coaches are, just be better.
