Charlotte Hornets’ Frank Kaminsky Wears A Steve Bartman Jersey To Troll The Cubs, Cubs Twitter Puts Him To Sleep

— ⓂarcusD2.0 (@_MarcusD2_) October 18, 2016

It’s been almost 13 years to the day since Steve Bartman infamously stuck his paws out to snatch a foul ball in Game 6 of the NLCS and became the ultimate scapegoat in the Cubs collapse. I’m not sure what the temperature in Chicago is toward Bartman now that we’re over a decade removed, but I’d venture to guess he won’t be handed the keys to the city any time soon.

Hell, I’m from Boston, and we literally just forgave Bill Buckner like last Tuesday for his blunder, and I wasn’t even alive for it. I think it’s safe to say that Bartman is to Chicago as Ray Finkle is to Miami or Jerry Sandusky is to Penn State.

So when Charlotte Hornets center and diehard Chicago White Sox fan Frank Kaminsky wore a Steve Bartman jersey to the United Center for a preseason game against the Bulls, it was not well received. Kaminsky sparred with the Chicago Cubs twitter account and eventually got put to bed.

I guess when you give up a 9 point lead in the second half to lose in your school’s first national championship game in 74 years, you’re unable to strike back. Probably because you’re sobbing over your computer.
