The Chicago Bears had a solid outing against the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football. Justin Fields looked solid throughout the game as the offense finally looked tailored to him. However, all eyes are on star rookie Jaquan Brisker, as he’s making a serious case to win the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.

According to Field Yates, Brisker has been on a tear this season. Through seven games, the Bears’ safety has accumulated 42 tackles, two sacks, one interception, and a fumble recovery. He’s also played all but one defensive snap as well. He’s been outstanding so far this season and has been a bright spot in Chicago.

This is the exact type of play the Bears need. They may not be playoff contenders, however, Jaquan Brisker is proving to be a building block for the front office. He’s become someone Chicago can build around as they hope to get back into the postseason within the next couple of years.

The Bears’ rookie safety is surely making a name for himself. He should be on everybody’s radar by now, as he’s becoming a star in Chicago. If he keeps this up, we should see him in the running for the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.

He has his work cut out for him though, as the New York Jets rookie cornerback Sauce Gardner has been lights out as well. Look for him and Jaquan Brisker to potentially lead the way in the DROY race at the end of the regular season.
