Michigan’s football program is just a couple of weeks from one of their biggest games in years.
Not only have they gotten another chance at the College Football Playoff this season, but unlike last year, they are actually favored to advance to the National Championship Game.
While the Wolverines have plenty of reasons to be excited about the opportunity they have coming their way on the 31st, it appears some of their players weren’t interested in remaining a part of the team up to that game.
In fact, they have already had 2 of their captains decide to enter the transfer portal before the team has made their College Football Playoff appearance. According to 247 Sports’ Alejandro Zuniga, both Cade McNamara and Erick All have already entered the transfer portal.
Two Michigan football captains have officially transferred to Iowa: QB Cade McNamara and TE Erick All.

It had already been reported that McNamara would not only be entering the portal, but that he had already picked out a conference rival to transfer to. Now All will be joining McNamara as a member of the Iowa Hawkeyes.
The on-field impact of both of these players was minimal this season. All made just 3 catches for 36 yards this season while McNamara attempted just 25 passes after being replaced by JJ McCarthy.
However, both players proved in 2021 that they could be solid starters for a college football program. Last season, All made 38 catches for 437 yards and a pair of touchdowns while McNamara quarterbacked Michigan to 13 wins and an appearance in the College Football Playoff.
Despite their lack of impact on the field this season, they were still clearly seen as leaders in this Michigan locker room.
Now these two will take their talents and leadership to the Big 10’s other division in 2023.
