Jaire Alexander is one of the league’s premier cover corners. And, he showed that on Sunday when he dominated Pro Bowler DJ Moore, and talked trash after the game.
The Packers-Bears game was one of the most anticipated games of the day, as many expected a breakout performance from Chicago Bears third-year quarterback Justin Fields, while the Packers had Jordan Love as the unquestioned starter for the first time.
But, it was the Packers defense that stole the show. The Bears didn’t score a touchdown until the end of the third quarter, and most of their damage in terms of yardage was done in garbage time as the Packers won 38-20.
The Packers forced two turnovers, including this pick-six of Justin Fields. Fields once again struggled as a passer, failing to show any signs he can process defenses quickly and concisely.

Part of the issue for the Bears was the incredible play of Jaire Alexander. Tasked with slowing down newly-acquired DJ Moore, he did just that. DJ Moore was only targeted twice, catching both for 25 yards. Yes, he gave up catches in both targets, but I can guarantee the Bears wanted to get him the ball a lot more than two times on 37 passing attempts.
The two players got into a scuffle after Jaire Alexander hit Justin Field as he was running out of bounds, but still in the field of play.
DJ Moore does not like Jaire Alexander.

Jaire Alexander was trolling, too.

And, after the game, he talked a little trash about shutting down DJ Moore. Take a look.
D.J. Moore had two catches for 25 yards today.

Corners have to have a certain personality. It’s probably the hardest job in football, and having that type of confidence is a huge asset. Jaire Alexander certainly has it.
The Packers take on the Falcons while the Bears take on the Buccaneers in week 2.
