School resource officer Chris Smith, who arrested and tased a woman earlier this week for refusing to leave when asked to wear a mask at a middle school football game, has been reassigned from working the Logan Hocking School District after receiving multiple death threats and racist insults.

A captain with the Logan Police department said their office is receiving more than 300 calls an hour regarding the arrest made at a Hocking County middle school football game.

Now a large group of 2,000 people have started a Facebook group to show support for officer Smith.

A Facebook group with more than 2,000 people is showing growing support for Officer Smith who arrested Alicia Kitts after he said she refused to leave school grounds. He approached Kitts and told her she needed to put her mask on as required by the school policy. She said she had asthma and was not going to put it on.
