Protesters Obstruct Then Cancel Milo Yiannopoulos Event At UC Davis, Throw Literal Shit At Martin Shkreli

Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos was scheduled to speak at an event at the University of California on Friday night along with Martin Shkreli. However, protesters arrived in droves to force the cancellation of the event which was hosted by the Davis College Republicans.

Police were forced to set up barricades to help contain the protesters.

The protesters shouted “shut it down” and “no fascist USA.”

This sentiment seems a bit hypocritical, as it aligns more with fascism in the way of expunging opinions that you disagree with instead of allowing free speech of all ideologies to be heard openly. But I digress, the protesters achieved what they came out to do as Yiannopoulos and Shkreli were not able to speak at the school-approved event and it was canceled a half-hour before it was set to begin.

“After consulting with UC Davis Police Department and UC Davis Student Affairs officials, the Davis College Republicans canceled tonight’s event featuring Breitbart columnist Milo Yiannopoulos,” UC Davis stated on their website. “The decision was made at about 7:00 pm, 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the event, after a large number of protesters blocked access to the venue, and it was determined that it was no longer feasible to continue with the event safely.”

UC Davis Interim Chancellor Ralph Hexter wrote in a statement that he was “deeply disappointed” by the cancellation.

“Our community is founded on principles of respect for all views, even those that we personally find repellent,” he said. “As I have stated repeatedly, a university is at its best when it listens to and critically engages opposing views, especially ones that many of us find upsetting or even offensive.”

Milo responded on Facebook to the event’s cancellation where he said that “guests were sprayed with urine and had bags of feces thrown at them.”

One of the people who was hit with shit was Shkreli. The once labeled “Most Hated Man in America” was pelted by poop at the exact same time as a protester called him “a piece of shit.”
