In 2006, Guy Fieri was named the winner of the second season of The Next Food Network Star, and it’s safe to say he’s fulfilled that prophecy. The Mayor of Flavortown has done very well for himself since then, and he’s doing even better now that he’s inked a massive new contract with the channel that made him famous.
It’s hard to believe Guy Fieri has been a figure on the national culinary scene for close to two decades, and while he was a somewhat divisive figure after being thrust into the spotlight, he’s currently one of the most widely beloved celebrities on the planet.
I’d argue he’s best known for hosting Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, but his list of current Food Network gigs includes Guy’s Grocery Games, Guy’s Ranch Kitchen, and Guy’s All-American Road Trip (among other projects).
The man who has also lent his name to the burgeoning chicken finger empire he created is undoubtedly the channel’s most valuable asset, and the fact that he was reportedly earning more than $25 million a year was a testament to that fact.
However, according to Variety, that number is now even larger, as Fieri has reportedly signed a new three-year deal that is reportedly worth more than $100 million.
There’s no telling what Guy will do with that money, but he’ll certainly have plenty of options, as that eight-figure sum is enough to purchase:
- 2.5 million flame-covered bowling shirts
- 3,086 1968 Chevy Camaros (based on their current average selling price)
- 50 million containers of hair wax
- 2,297,794 copies of Smash Mouth’s “All Star” on vinyl
- 1,111,728 Trash Can Nacho food kits
- 1,428,571 officially licensed Guy Fieri Halloween costumes
- 769,230 pairs of Tommy Bahama flip-flops that food on Triple D could theoretically be served on
I have a feeling he’ll be using most of the money for something slightly more prudent, but regardless of what he does with it, it couldn’t have happened to a better Guy.
