It has been a while since the Indianapolis Colts have had stability at the quarterback position.
The team has done a pretty bad job handling the position since Peyton Manning left for the Denver Broncos.
They appeared to have their franchise quarterback when they drafted Andrew Luck, but their inability to put a competent offensive line in front of him led to an injury=plagued career and his retirement after just 7 seasons.
In the 4 years since his retirement, the Colts have turned to Jacoby Brissett, Brian Hoyer, Philip Rivers, Carson Wentz, Matt Ryan, Sam Ehlinger, and Nick Foles.
Rivers is the only one to lead the team to success and the last 4 of those quarterbacks combined to put together 2 very disappointing seasons for the Colts.
This past season was particularly bad, with the Colts struggling to a 4-12-1 record as they featured one of football’s worst offenses.
Yesterday, one of their players spoke out about the team’s QB issues. According to The Athletic’s Zak Keefer, Mo Alie-Cox is not happy with the constant changes at quarterback.
Asked Mo Alie-Cox what needs to change with this franchise: "Stability at the most important position … I been here six years. I’ve been through what, 8, 9 quarterbacks? Next year I’ll probably be playing with a rookie? It makes your job harder."

"Cadences are different with three different quarterbacks (this season). Their timing's different. Everyone wants you to run your route a different way. We’re changing plays every week. Each quarterback likes their own plays, so we have to change plays (every week)."

This season was certainly a frustrating one for Alie-Cox, who saw his least yards and receptions since 2019.
However, that might not have as much to do with quarterback play as it does with him falling down the tight end pecking order. Both Kylen Granson and Jelani Woods managed to outpace Alie-Cox in catches and yards.
It doesn’t change the fact that he’s right about the Indianapolis Colts needing to fix their quarterback situation, but more QB stability also might not change much for him on this team.
