The 33-year-old player had been absent from the Raiders pretty much the entire regular season during which he posted a series of messages on social media targeting the team, owner Mark Davis, coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler.
The team placed Jones on the non-football injury/illness list on September 20.
Jones now faces legal proceedings, with a court date set for December 4.
The Raiders are subject to approximately $12 million in dead money against the salary cap for both 2023 and 2024 after Jones’ release.
Hopefully Chandler Jones finds help soon, the details of his arrest are concerning.
