A college baseball player was ejected over the weekend for one of the more disrespectful bat flips you’ll ever witness. Jordan McClellan of Saint Mary was seen celebrating a bit too much following a monster home run.
The result was his removal from the game as umpires deemed the act too excessive.
Fans have been quick to lend their opinion on whether or not the ejection was the right call.The University of Saint Mary travelled to play Tabor College in a three-game set over the weekend, with the two foes facing off in a doubleheader on Saturday. Fireworks would fly early in the first of those two Saturday matchups.
After Tabor struck first with two runs in the opening frame, Saint Mary exploded for six runs in the second inning to answer. They’d take a 6-3 lead into the fourth before centerfielder Jordan McClellan blasted a solo shot into the left field stands.
Not only did he stop to admire the bomb, but he then threw his bat in the direction of the pitcher. After rounding the bases, he stomped emphatically on home plate.

The act of tossing the bat onto the field of play is likely what landed the ejection. Fans were quick to comment, with many believing the removal from play was warranted.

Whatever the case, the bat flip appeared to rile up the opposition. Tabor would score 19 runs over the next three frames to win Game 1, 22-11. They’d then take Game 2 of the double header, 26-1.
