The doctor who inspired Will Smith’s 2015 movie “Concussion” is calling on Tua Tagovailoa to retire.
On Tuesday, Dr.Bennet Omalu spoke with TMZ and begged the Dolphins QB to stay away from the game after his latest concussion.
“If you love your life,if you love your family, you love your kids — if you have kids — it’s time to gallantly walk away.
Go find something else to do.”
“Tua, my brother. I love you,” Omalu said. “I love you as much as I love my son. Stop playing. Stop. Hang your helmet and gallantly walk away. He should stop,” the doctor said. “Sometimes money is not more valuable than human life. $20 billion is not worth more than your brain.”

Omalu says he believes Tagovailoa suffered “severe permanent brain damage” when he seized on the field before he was carted off with a concussion.
Omalu isn’t the only neurologist asking Tua to sit out.
CTE expert Chris Nowinski has advised Tua not to play for the rest of the season.

“My advice would be, having been through it and knowing so many dead athlete stories where there was suicide or some aspect of CTE or some traumatic brain injury, do not go back this season.”
“The Dolphins did not take care of you. The fact they put you out there, frankly, If I were [Tua], I would not go back and play for the Dolphins, because this was not just a failure of the medical team, this was a failure of the coaching staff, and failure of ownership.”
Tua met with the NFL on Tuesday while the league is looking into his situation and will sit out this week while in the concussion protocol.
