Prior to suffering what appears to be a torn Achilles, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers ran out onto the MetLife Stadium turf holding an American flag in commemoration of the 22nd anniversary of 9/11.
That would ultimately be the highlight of Rodgers’ brief Jets career, though, as the four-time NFL MVP would go down with what’s likely a season-ending injury just four snaps into his Gang Green career. Not only did Rodgers only take four snaps but he didn’t even complete a single pass while wearing Jets’ green and white before going down.
After the injury, some NFL fans were quick to point out the strangeness of Rodgers, a supposed 9/11 conspiracy theorist, suffering perhaps the worst injury of his career after running out with the stars and stripes on the hallowed anniversary.

Aaron Rodgers believing that 9/11 was a hoax …then having his season opener in NY on 9/11..only to lose his ankle minutes into the game…
The script writers this year are really doing their thing

Rodgers is getting an MRI on Tuesday morning that will likely confirm what the Jets fear: that he’s suffered a torn Achilles and will likely miss the entirety of the season.
The injury to Rodgers was devastating on all accounts, but particularly for Jets fans, who felt that the future Hall of Famer would be able to lead the team to the playoffs for the first time since 2010. Not only were the Jets expected to make the playoffs, but bookmakers also had them as one of the top seven betting favorites to win the Super Bowl.
on 9/11 lets remember that aaron rodgers asked deshone kizer if he "believes in 9/11" https://t.co/KPY6aoQrkB

After the game, New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh not only confirmed that the organization is fearing the worst for Rodgers but that they’ll be turning to Zach Wilson as their starting QB for the rest of the season.
Wilson, of course, was taken as the #2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and has done absolutely nothing to convince the organization that he’s a franchise-caliber quarterback.
The Jets already-nightmarish season will continue next week when they head to Dallas to take on the Cowboys in Week 2.
