If you are a person who can’t put their phone down while you eat, boy do we have a phone case for you. There is now a case that forces you to not put your phone down while you are eating. A new smartphone case comes equipped with a fork and spoon built into the case so you can keep an eye on Snapchat as you eat your shakshouka.
Did you even know that this was an actual problem that you needed a new invention as the solution? The new phone case is called “sphoon_phork,” and this “revolutionary” product will “turn your smartphone into a spoon or a fork.” The phone case comes with a removable fork and spoon so you can hold your phone to look at memes as you simultaneously shovel poké tuna into your gullet. The company from Singapore that makes the sphoon_phork started a Kickstarter campaign to fund their new utensil aimed at millennials. The Kickstarter campaign kicked off in January with a goal of securing $11,036 in funding, but at the time of publication had only raised $253.
Cheddar posted a video of the sphoon_phork in action showing millennials enjoying salads and soups with the cumbersome utensil.

Some observations about this new wonder case. First off, the screen becomes hard to see when you put it up to your face to put food in your mouth. Secondly, food is going to splatter on your phone. Thirdly, your phone is disgusting, a recent study found that your smartphone has more germs than a toilet, one study said phones are SEVEN times dirtier than toilets. Would you eat your acai bowl off the toilet seat?
The forking phone case costs $39 and is compatible with iPhone 7, 8, X and XS. The company says “once the campaign is backed, we indent adapt the design to the other phone models” including iPhone XS Max, XR and 8 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9 Plus and Galaxy Note 9, Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro and P20 Pro, Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, and Sony Xperia XZ3.
It’s okay to eat your meals without being inundated by social media. Put down the phone and enjoy your pho in peace, the Instagram stories will still be there once you’re done eating.
