Recent comments made by Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher have fans worried about the future. In particular, they fear that the coach’s stubbornness will lead to issues with one new hire.
A clip of Fisher answering questions about the offense during spring practice is now going viral on social media.
SEC football fans have been quick to post their reactions to the video. Now, it’s worth noting that the Aggies struggled mightily on the offensive side of the ball last season. Injuries at key areas along with the suspensions of young stars certainly compounded the issues, but nonetheless, things were bad in College Station.
At season’s end, Texas A&M ranked 12th in the SEC in total offense and 13th in points per game.
Jimbo Fisher acted as both head coach and play caller for the Aggies, as he’s done at previous stops throughout his career. His latest performance, though, left a lot to be desired.
In an attempt to both move forward and divvy up responsibilities, the program hired former Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino as offensive coordinator. That move was expected to take a load off of their head coach so that he can better focus on his team management duties.
Unfortunately, fans fear that Fisher is just too stubborn to let go completely.

“We’ll go through that as we go… Plan on him calling plays. I have no problem with that at all.”
While Jimbo Fisher does say he “plans on [Petrino] making calls,” fans don’t believe he’ll surrender the role so easily. They quickly posted reactions about the response in the comments section.

Many seriously doubt that Fisher will give Petrino full reign despite his qualifications as a play caller in the SEC.

Others foresee tensions building between the coaches. One follower wrote, “This is going to be a disaster and we all get to watch it on live tv.” Another said, “These guys are going to get in a fist fight on the sidelines.”
Someone else hilariously commented, “I don’t watch reality tv because I have college football… This is going to be glorious.”
It seems that everyone is here for the drama.
Boy that’s gonna be fun to watch

It will be interesting to see if Jimbo Fisher can stay out of his own way and trust the man hired to do the job.
