Tony Pollard warms up on the field for the Cowboys.

Dallas running back Tony Pollard found out some interesting news surrounding his Cowboys coaching staff on Wednesday while making an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show.

The ball carrier didn’t realize defensive coordinator Dan Quinn had accepted the head coaching role for the rival Commanders.

His reaction to the discovery only added to the hilarity of the situation as he came to terms with Quinn’s decision.

Pollard was completely out of the loop despite the fact that the move was made public nearly a week ago. Quinn, who held the head coaching job for the Falcons prior to his three-year stint with the Cowboys, finds himself back in a team leadership position with Washington.

The tailback blamed a lack of social media for his ignorance of the situation after finding out on air in the middle of a national sports show broadcast.

“You know what’s crazy?” Pollard

after AJ Hawk asked about the team’s defensive coordinator search. ” I haven’t been on social media. I got rid of Instagram midway through the season. Being a Cowboy, you have to find a way to keep your mental on point.”

He then confirmed suspicions when asked if he’d just found out about Dan Quinn’s new gig.

“I just found out right now.”

While not initially in-the-know, Tony Pollard was more than complimentary of his now-former defensive coordinator.

“I don’t doubt Dan Quinn at all,” he said about the coach. “Whatever he’s doing, head coaching, defensive coordinator, he’s gonna find a way to get the most out of the guys that he coaches.”

Pollard will now line up across from Quinn after spending three seasons on the same sideline. Following his move to Washington, the head coach will battle his new NFC East rival twice a year.

Quinn went 43-42 over six seasons leading the Falcons. In 2016, he took Atlanta to the Super Bowl where they’d ultimately fall to Tom Brady and the Patriots in heartbreaking fashion.

Now, he hopes to thrive in his second head coaching stint which is set to begin in 2024.
