Commanders head coach Dan Quinn is already making waves in his first practice in Washington.
After buying the Washington Commanders last year, new owner Josh Harris confirmed that he would change the team’s name Redskins name despite over 100,000 fans signing a petition to bring the old name back.

“Obviously, I grew up in D.
C. and I was there during the glory years, so I understand why fans love the former name,” Harris said.“But look, there was a portion of our fanbase that felt disrespected by the former name,” Harris continued. “Sports are supposed to bring people together and not be a distraction. I don’t want distractions … I thought it was important that we end the conversation.”
On Saturday, newly signed head coach Dan Quinn appeared to honor the old Redskins name by wearing a Washington Commanders shirt with Redskins feathers on it.
Can we stop for one second and appreciate this shirt Dan Quinn showcased during today’s press conference?!

It’s unclear where Quinn got the shirt because it’s definitely not licensed/approved by the NFL.
Dan Quinn debuted a new Commanders shirt today too. Little bit of a throwback to the old logo. If it’s for sale, it will definitely sell. pic.twitter.com/pJbYkzXv8e

Quinn will likely get a call from the NFL over his unlicensed Redskins shirt.

FWIW, I fully expect Quinn and the organization to receive a letter from NFL HQ sternly reminding them of the rules and regulations regarding official NFL merchandise. https://t.co/oO6LKrPLR5
