Colts Rookie Anthony Richardson To Miss 4-6 Weeks With New Injury

Looks like Indianapolis Colts rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson is gonna be riding the bench for a bit with a shoulder injury.

According to a Dianna Russini of the Athletic, he’s dealing with a Grade 3 AC joint sprain in his shoulder, which is a painful injury.

The team ran an MRI on him on Sunday, just to be sure about the diagnosis.

Richardson took a hit in the second quarter during Sunday’s showdown against the Tennessee Titans. The tackle left him nursing that sprained shoulder. Tough break for the young promising quarterback.

Now, who’s gonna be stepping up in his absence? veteran Gardner Minshew is taking over as starter. He had a very decent outing vs the Titans, completing 11 out of 14 passes for 155 yards in the 23-16 win.

Minshew already showed he’s got what it takes when he led the Colts to an overtime victory against the Ravens in Week 3 when Richardson was sidelined with a concussion.

Richardson has a ton of talent and shown flashes of brilliance as both a passer and a runner, but he’s already had his fair share of injuries, and he only played four games this season. That’s gotta be a cause for concern.
