Baseball viewers got to see a very, very painful HR robbery this week in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League. The incredible snag came from Jack Porter of the Lima Locos.

On the play, Porter tracks a deep fly ball to the wall before leaping, catching, and flipping over the outfield gate.

He then toppled squarely onto a metal bench sitting behind the fence.

The summersaulting grab made it all the way to No. 2 on the SportsCenter Top 10, though many think it should have gotten the top spot.

We’ll let you be the judge.

The HR robbery is equally as impressive as it is grimace-inducing as Porter drills the fence with his shins before scorpion-ing onto that aluminum bleacher.

The outfielder gave a fantastic

of the catch after the fact, saying, “I did not know where the fence was… I jumped up and my knees hit the fence and I caught it.

“When I flipped over the fence, I started getting a little worried,” Porter continued. “Then the bench broke my fall.”

The clip instantly went viral with fans and media offering responses on social media.

One account said, “Dude hit everything imaginable but still held on for the catch.”

Former UVA pitcher Stephen Schoch wrote, “This play by Jack Porter is like a razor scooter to the shin on steroids.”

The player who hit the baseball, Brayton Bowen, was as impressed as anyone, responding, “Yeah… as the guy who hit this ball, wow. Craziest play I’ve ever seen in my life.”

The Locos social media team posted a freeze frame breakdown of the incredible grab, which gives every angle of Porter’s tumble.

The HR robbery helped the Locos win the game as they held on for a 5-4 victory.

When not playing in the Summer League, Jack Porter suits up for the UCF Knights. He didn’t get to see the field as a freshman, but this catch is sure to turn some heads as he enters next season.
