I’m a late riser. Mornings just aren’t for me. I live to sleep in. But back in college, the one consistent in my weekend morning routine was making sure I got to McDonalds before the hard 10:30 breakfast stop. After a night out there is nothing better in the world than a Sausage Egg McMuffin and a hash brown.
Wheaties is full of shit — Mickey Ds if the breakfast of champions.Here’s a pretty cool history of how the McDonald’s breakfast became a cultural icon. The only milestone it’s missing, IMO, is 1999 when Big Daddy came out. Adam Sandler’s “WILL SOMEBODY GET THIS KID A HAPPY MEAL?!” freakout was the most real struggle in the world.
