Kirk Herbstreit is the busiest man in sports from Wednesday to Sunday. The 54-year-old sportscaster calls two games in three days with a four-hour morning show in between.
Fortunately, he is getting paid a lot of money to do it and travels in luxury. As does his beloved golden retriever, Ben.
I’m sorry for another shot of Ben-But this is what I’m dealin with-Not only is he easy to take on the road-dude just makes himself at home wherever we go & CHILLS!
Scale of 1-10 on “maintenance” he’s a 0-I’m workin on my board for the game & I look over my shoulder & see this.pic.twitter.com/ljXJmRCJ6M

Ben has traveled all over the country with Herbstreit over the last few weeks. The adorable pup
He has even made his way onto the field before last weekend’s game in Athens, Georgia and got to enjoy some fresh-cut, perfectly-manicured grass before kickoff.
@maria__martin Is there anyone happier than Kirk Herbstreit’s dog Ben before the Georgia vs Ole Miss game? What a good boy

This will be his busiest week yet. It started with a flight to Baltimore on Wednesday.
Okay. Big week of travel for Ben. He’s fired up to be back on the road. First stop @Bengals at the @Ravens for @NFLonPrime Thursday pm. pic.twitter.com/pohY0UT60f

Herbstreit will call Thursday night’s NFL game between the Bengals and Ravens. He and Ben will fly to Virginia on Friday. College GameDay will be live from James Madison University on Saturday morning.
The crew will then board a plane out to the Pacific Northwest.
Herbstreit will call Saturday night’s college football game between Oregon State and Washington before returning home on Sunday morning. Ben, of course, will be with him for the duration of the trip!
- Cincinnati to Baltimore: 423 miles
- Baltimore to Harrisonburg, Virginia: 135 miles
- Harrisonburg to Corvallis, Oregon: 2,306 miles
- Corvallis to Cincinnati: 2,011 miles
Ben and Herbstreit will cover 4,875 miles this weekend. More than 4,000 of them will come in less than 24 hours between the end of College GameDay and their return trip home on Sunday morning.
Even though Kirk Herbstreit loves what he does and gets paid a lot of money to do what he does, it can get lonely being on the road as much as he is during the fall. Having Ben around helps! What a trooper!
