It’s been an NCAA Tournament like no other, with none of the number-one seeds making the Elite Eight, and only one number-two seed making it, the Texas Longhorns. But, there’s no doubt that the breakout star has been Kansas State point guard Markquis Nowell.
The diminutive point guard from Harlem led Kansas State all the way to the Elite Eight with incredible passing and long-range shooting.
He even set the all-time tournament assist record in the Sweet 16 against Michigan State with a marvelous 19 assists.Markquis Nowell is now tied for most assists ALL TIME in an NCAA Tournament game (18).

He captivated the hearts of basketball fans everywhere, and it was really cool that Nowell, who hadn’t been back home to New York City in a few years, got to play at Madison Square Garden in the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight in front of his friends and family.
Yes, Kansas State lost to Florida Atlantic, 79-76, but Nowell left it all on the court. He finished with 30 points, 12 assists, and 5 threes. These highlights are awesome.

Finally, Markquis Nowell Tweeted out a final thank you after his final collegiate game.

Sadly, Kansas State is still looking for their first NCAA championship in any sport, ever.
