The South Carolina basketball team pulled its upset of the year, knocking off sixth-ranked Kentucky in Columbia. The Gamecocks put on a defensive show, holding the Wildcats to a season-low 62 points.

, the 79-62 result represented the largest margin of victory over a top 10 foe in program history. It also landed South Carolina a second straight win over Kentucky after the Gamecocks took UK down in Rupp Arena last season.

John Calipari is now 0-2 against second-year coach Lamont Paris in SEC play, and he had the following to say after the contest.
