After making a name for himself as arguably the best Saturday Night Live cast member following the Will Ferrell years, Bill Hader’s career has taken a turn in a wildly different direction in recent years thanks to his work on the HBO series Barry.
Originally a comedy with a dark tilt about a hitman trying to become an actor, Barry has evolved into a full-blown high-stakes drama over the course of its four seasons, culminating in a current fourth season that has television fans completely awed by what Hader’s pulling off, as he directed all eight episodes of the conclusive final season.
Warning: Light spoilers for Season 4, episode 4 of Barry, “it takes a psycho”, will follow
After the conclusion of Sunday night’s episode, television fans immediately hoped on Twitter to rave about the latest episode of Barry, titled “it takes a psycho”, which was yet another harrowing gut-punch in a season that’s been full of them.

With Bill Hader recently saying his next project may be a horror film, fans are absolutely clamoring to see what that would look like following his stunning work on Barry.
“We wrote a movie that I’d like to make at some point, which is kind of like what everybody usually does. They try to make a little, small thing. And then I have two other ideas. One is kind of hard to describe, and then the other one is ‘Barry’-like in tone, but instead of a crime thing, it’s like a horror thing,” Hader recently told Deadline.
“The horror one, I would star in. The other two, as of now, I would not be in,” he said.
That sand scene in #Barry with the black screen and only the sound? Bill Hader absolutely has to direct a horror movie soon.
