Astros Pitcher Calls Out The Texas Rangers For Being Greedy In The Midst Of Hurricane Harvey Crisis

The outpouring of money and aid for the Houston-metro area from every corner of America has been astounding. As federal officials predict that the historic flooding will drive 30,000 people into shelters and prompt 450,000 victims to seek disaster assistance, American individuals and companies have stepped up big time.

Anheuser-Busch and MillerCoors stopped canning beer to can water for Harvey victims. J.J. Watt has spearheaded his own fundraising campaign, which at the time of me writing this, has blown past its $1 million goal. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

But, just like the one person who hits the ‘thumbs down’ button on a YouTube video of a litter of puppies, there will always be one self-interested dickhead. And Hurricane Harvey exposed the greed of The Texas Rangers. While the Houston Astros are set to donate $4 million to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, the Rangers are all butt hurt about losing a few bucks.

The Rangers and the Astros were scheduled to play a series in Houston this week, but the elements don’t care about no baseball game. The most logical alternative location was Arlington, Texas, but the Rangers were not willing to give up their home series, settling on Tampa Bay, Florida.

Pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. immediately jumped on Twitter to expose the Rangers for their greedy, self-indulgent ways in the face of a major crisis. Money over everything, I guess.

Be better, Rangers.
