Thirteen years ago, Michael Jordan bought the Charlotte Hornets to much fanfare from the team’s fans. After all, the greatest basketball player ever returning to his native state to help lead one of the league’s worst franchises had to work out, right?
Well, it didn’t. The Hornets were never serious contenders during his ownership.
The team made the playoffs just three times in his tenure, and never won a playoff series. However, the future is bright. The team has a franchise player in LaMelo Ball, and just added second-overall pick Brandon Miller. But, Michael Jordan won’t be around to see it, as he is selling the team.
A group led by investor Gabe Plotkin has bought the team. And, on Sunday, the vote by the other owners was almost unanimous. Almost unanimous, because Knicks owner James Dolan voted against it.
ESPN Sources: The BOG vote was 29-1 to approve the sale. Knicks owner James Dolan registered the lone vote against.

Why did James Dolan do this? Why does James Dolan do anything other than play in his jazz band?
If you've seen JD & The Straight Shot you know about his awful solos.

Well, well, well… Dolan's at it again! Going against the grain like a porcupine on a unicycle. No surprise there.

Anything Dolan votes against seems like a solid decision. He is a bottom 5 owner in all of pro sports

Dolan probably thought it was a vote on him giving up the Knicks

Congrats to Michael Jordan on being much richer than he was yesterday.
