The Cleveland Browns have officially started trimming their roster, waiving quarterback Kellen Mond, cornerback Chris Westry, and defensive end Charles Wiley, according to the team.
The decision to part ways with Mond, who was a 2021 third-round selection of the Minnesota Vikings, came as no surprise after the Browns drafted Dorian Thompson-Robinson in the fifth round of this year’s 2023 draft.
Thompson-Robinson has showcased his talent throughout the preseason, making the competition for the backup quarterback role highly competitive.

Mond’s journey to Cleveland was unconventional, as he joined the Browns via a waiver wire claim after being cut by the Vikings after his rookie season.
Unfortunately for Mond, he never had the opportunity to take the field for the Browns during his tenure.
