A performance artist named DaVida Sal created her own protest of social distancing measures by standing outside Trader Joe’s wearing a bikini made of surgical masks because… 2020.
Check me on this, but haven’t numerous companies paused the production of their own goods and been manufacturing masks so they can provide them to people who need them, but can’t get them, due to the massive demands for masks these days?
And haven’t people and organizations been donating millions of masks for that same reason?Okay, that’s what I thought.
So, using, say… 10 or so of these masks to create a bikini to wear as some sort of protest to the country being in lockdown to prevent the spread of a killer virus is probably not the best use of sais masks, right?

Go figure, but not everyone appreciated DaVida Sol’s message.
“I don’t know who needs to hear this- but automatically doing the opposite of what scientists tell you isn’t ‘thinking for yourself,'” wrote KG Garcia in the comments.
She also added, ““If water puts out fires, why do we be need fire extinguishers? If fire extinguishers work, why have water? If both work, why are we so afraid of starting fires in the first place?”
