The NBA Finals get started this week in Boston with the Celtics taking on Luka and the Dallas Mavericks who haven’t been to the Finals in 13 years. Over that span since the Mavs last went to the NBA Finals, Kyrie Irving won a ‘ship in 2016 and was named to the NBA All-Star Team 8 times.
LeBron James won 4 titles since the Dallas Mavericks last won it all in 2011 including a title in 2016 with Kyrie, and now King James will sit idly by as his buddy Kyrie seeks another ring, something he discussed with JJ Reddick on the latest episode of the Mind the Game Pod.
After watching the clip, I can say that LeBron James somehow made this description of Kyrie Irving sound both familiar and completely nonsensical. He compared Kyrie Irving to playing Uno but I’m still not 100% certain I know what he’s saying here:
LeBron James: “Kyrie Irving is the ultimate wild card. It’s like having a ‘Draw 4’ in your hand every time someone deals you cards in Uno.”
LeBron also said he will repeatedly call Kyrie Irving a “wizard.” He says he calls Kyrie a “wizard” all the time and that there’s nothing on the basketball floor that Kyrie cannot do.
Somehow Dallas was able to combine that with Luka Doncic who finished 3rd in MVP voting this season:

Jayson Tatum got some points and Boston is a great time, but to hear LeBron James say he’s never seen someone in his NBA career who feels better shooting with his off-hand than Kyrie Irving, these are accolades you don’t want to hear if you’re a Celtics fan… The man said “I have so many words to praise Kyrie that I end up with absolutely none.”
My dude, LeBron, what are you even talking about at this point? I’m lost again…
