If You’re Going To Watch One Insect Fight On The Internet Today, Make It These Two Beetles Throwing Haymakers At Each Other

If you told me this afternoon when I woke up that I’d be blogging about two beetles in a bar fight, I’d tell you not to tell my dad, the man who help put me through college. But the thing about good content is that it knows no race or creed or species. And this viral video of two beetles duking it out is good content, whether you or I like it or not.

The video, which was posted on Twitter yesterday, has already garnered over 96,000 likes and 32,000 retweets, so if you’re going gripe with me about its worthiness, you’ll have to take it up with a number of people who could sell out Cowboy Stadium too. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you: Beetle Brawl 2018.

This begs the question: why are these beetles so wound up? Is it over a lady? Did one of them hear Yanny and the other Laurel? Is this a classic case of one beetle owning a bleeding-heart lib? Unless one of them appears on the next episode of Ellen, I’m not sure we’ll ever find out.

What I do know, however, is that I’m balls deep in a Japanese Insect Fight rabbit hole on YouTube and I only bought a one way ticket. Have a good life, ya’ll.

Spellbinding.
