Dan Marino: Patrick Mahomes Is Already Better Than Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, And Many More

Terry Bradshaw. Joe Montana. Troy Aikman. Tom Brady. Patrick Mahomes. These are the only quarterbacks in the history of the National Football League to win at least 3 Super Bowl titles.

Of all those quarterbacks, Mahomes — who just won his third Super Bowl ring earlier this month — is the only one of those signal-callers who remains an active player.

And not only is Mahomes still playing, but he’s barely even entered his prime as he’s still just 28 years old.

Given the scope of his accomplishments prior to his 30th birthday, Mahomes is already considered to be one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, including by Hall of Famer Dan Marino, who put the Chiefs QB on his “Mt. Rushmore” of NFL quarterbacks ahead of the likes of Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, Steve Young, and many more.

“I gotta go back to the guys I played against, I always loved Joe Namath. I always loved [Terry] Bradshaw, but to me [Joe] Montana and [John] Elway, Jim Kelly … Patrick Mahomes, he’s gotta be considered one of the best ever, too, and you got Tom Brady, a lot of guys,” Marino said in a recent interview with Sports Illustrated.

Dan Marino certainly knows a thing or two about being an all-time great as many consider Marino to be one of the best QBs to ever play the game despite the fact that he never won a Super Bowl during his time in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins.

If (and, most likely, when) Mahomes wins a 4th Super Bowl, that’ll put him level with Terry Bradshaw and Joe Montana, and three behind Tom Brady’s astounding record of 7.

Mahomes, however, has said that he wants to play into his 40s like Brady did, so he still has plenty of time, likely at least a decade.
