If you were to take a stab at who Kevin Durant’s favorite NBA player is, you may guess a teammate: reigning MVP Steph Curry or professional dick kicker Draymond Green would probably get a few points on the Family Feud board.
But the former MVP’s favorite player is not only not on the same team as Durant, he’s not even in the same conference.
I’ll give you a hint: his name rhymes with Saul Borge and absolutely positively does not rhyme with Tussle Bestcrook.Hint 2: His nickname is PG-13.
Ok, this game is getting stale.
It’s Indiana Pacers small forward and three-time NBA All-Star Paul George, silly!
Durant said in the lead up to his matchup with George tonight at the Oracle Arena:
“He’s my favorite player in the league,” Durant said of George at shootaround on Monday. “I’ve been saying that for awhile. Just so smooth, man. He can do it all: pass, rebound, defend, post up, shoot the ball. He’s my favorite player.”
“We want the same things on the basketball court,” Durant continued. “He’s low-maintenance. He’s a superstar, but he’s a low-maintenance guy. Doesn’t need much. Same type of attitude that I bring. Loves the game. Loves to work. So we kind of clicked.”
Durant, George, and James Harden practiced together during offseason sessions in L.A. and teamed up together to secure a gold medal in the 2016 Olympic Games. George, who is averaging 20.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists, for the Pacers is widely respected around the league for being a lunch-pale, locker room guy with a voracious competitive appetite.
Poor Russell.
