After endless eulogies about the death of the movie star were written in the wake of the overwhelming success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, recent years have proven that reports of their demise were greatly exaggerated.

Add in Anya Taylor-Joy headlining Furiosa, Jenna Ortega landing Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Paul Mescal starring in Gladiator 2, and Jacob Elordi recently playing Elvis and you have the ten actors that Hollywood believes are the next generation of household names, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Studio slates are undoubtedly still dominated by franchise installments, but executives are looking for star vehicles, again. Albeit these vehicles may come in the form of remakes or reboots of left-of-center IP from library rich studios.

Of the actors on this list, the one with the newest movie is Taylor-Joy, as Furiosa hits theaters today — Friday, May 24. Earlier this month, Zendaya starred in Challengers, which earned her some of the best reviews of her carer.
