Last week, the football world spent a lot of time talking about coin tosses.
It was possible that a coin toss was going to determine the top seed in the AFC.
If the Cincinnati Bengals failed to beat the Baltimore Ravens, home-field advantage for this weekend’s rematch between the two teams was going to be determined by a coin flip.
The Bengals and their fans weren’t particularly pleased with that second part.
As a result, former star receiver Chad Johnson proposed the idea of one of the Bengals’ players celebrating a touchdown with a coin flip of their own if they scored against the Ravens.
Joe Mixon actually did it.
This is great: After scoring, Joe Mixon pulled a coin out of his sock and flipped it. A real coin!

Today Mixon learned that he would be fined $13,261 for his celebration and had a hilarious suggestion for how it should be decided if he would actually pay the fine or if Roger Goodell should donate to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Cincinnati instead. He thought they should flip for it.
@NFL since y’all all about the coin flipping let’s do this. Let’s have a coin toss to pay this crazy fine for expressing myself. If it’s heads I’ll pay. If it’s tails Roger G pay the money to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Cincinnati.

Mixon may not actually be the one to end up paying it after all as Johnson has offered to reimburse him for the fine.
On my flight headed to Cincinnati & that makes me happy, i have my checkbook so i can reimburse Joe Mixon on whatever fine amount was handed down from the league office.

Hopefully fans won’t have to worry about any more coin flips in the playoffs.
