Friday, Team USA looked prime to defend its 2016 Ryder Cup domination, securing three of the four possible points in the morning fourballs. Then, things went down the shitter for the red, white, and blue.
For the first time since 1989, the European Ryder Cup team swept the entire afternoon session 4-0, finishing the day with the Europeans up 5-3. Yes, there is still a lot of golf to play, but historically the United States is climbing and uphill battle. The team to win more points in foursomes has won the Ryder Cup 6 of the last 7 times and Europe is defending a 25-year winning streak on home soil.
