Dana White and the UFC have been under fire ever since that New Year’s Eve video was released by TMZ. That physical altercation between White and his wife isn’t going away.
Even so, pretty much every company involved with the UFC has been noticeably quiet. Well, some California senators are tired of it as they’re calling for Dana White’s job.
According to MMA Junkie, “the California Legislative Women’s Caucus (CLWC) posted online a letter addressed to Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel calling for ‘the immediate removal’ of White as UFC president.” You can find that letter right here.
The CLWC wants Endeavor and the popular fight league to make a final decision regarding Dana White. They also pinpoint the “silence” since the New Year’s Eve incident. They state, “Your continued silence speaks volumes. As you once wrote: ‘Silence and inaction are not an option.’ … Every day that Mr. White’s actions go unaccounted for, your silence becomes more piercing and troubling.”
We’ll see if anything happens though. You’d think there would be some major repercussions for the incident. As of now, there doesn’t seem to be anything in the plan for Endeavor, the UFC, or Dana White.
A previous statement from White points out the irony of his current situation, per MMA Junkie. The UFC President said in 2014, “There’s one thing that you never bounce back from, and that’s putting your hands on a woman.”
This is certainly something to monitor moving forward, as there is no telling how this plays out.
