It’s not all doom and gloom, folks! In Minnesota, we’ve got a 900-car pay-it-forward chain happening at Dairy Queen:
GMA–
A drive-thru at a Dairy Queen in Brainerd, Minnesota, was busy last week when more than 900 cars participated in a pay-it-forward chain.
The pay-it-forward started Thursday during lunch and lasted through Saturday night.
According to Jensen, the line started when a man decided to pay for the bill of the person behind him.
Hey do you guys remember that Haley Joel Osmont-Kevin Spacey-Helen Hunt movie, Pay It Forward? It was a solid movie. Great social concept from young Haley Joel. Good message. But remember how it ended? He was stabbed to death by a kid with a ponytail.
The lesson there is don’t let your good deeds grow to the point where you can’t control them anymore. 900 cars at a Dairy Queen drive-thru is out of control. How does this even happen? It’s all fun and games when you get your $2 softserve swirl cone for free. But the fun comes to a screeching halt when you pick up the tab for the Chevy Suburban behind you, and it’s packed to the gills with a starving boys’ soccer team. There needs to be a limit.
Is this the busiest Dairy Queen in America? Obviously it has to be a 24-hour drive-thru. But the fact that there wasn’t a single break in the line for two and a half days isn’t great news. We’re talking about Dairy Queen. Who is at Dairy Queen at 7AM? If you’re thinking they probably get their morning coffee at Dairy Queen, I’ll counter with this: what sort of person gets their morning coffee at Dairy Queen?
I won’t judge. Clearly this town has some good people. Way to go, everyone! Except for that 900th guy. What a dick.
