Hershey’s just announced a new product that’s absolutely…wait for it…insane. There’s probably a more appropriate word but it’s not coming to me at the moment.
The company is debuting Reese’s Ultimate Peanut Butter Lovers in April 2021 which’s 100% peanut butter.
According to a press release, these Ultimate Peanut Butter Lovers are “stuffed with the same beloved, Reese’s peanut butter inside and a 100% peanut butter candy-flavored shell on the outside, you’ve never seen a Reese’s Cup like this before.
”This is huge news for a peanut butter freak like myself who eats spoonfuls of the stuff right from the jar. The only way I can stop eating peanut butter is to not buy any jars. If I go to a friend’s house, and he has peanut butter, I either immediately leave or burn the house down.
Thank god. No more of that pointless chocolate to get in the way of the delicious.
“While launching a Reese’s Cup with absolutely no chocolate might come as a shock, we’re giving the truest peanut butter fans something to go wild about,” Margo McIlvaine, Reese’s brand manager, said in a press release. “The frenzy that comes with changing an icon like the Reese’s Cup is real — but you can still enjoy the classic plus get more peanut butter flavor with a new option that’s every peanut butter lover’s dream!”
The Reese’s Ultimate Peanut Butter Lovers Cups hit retailers and come in the regular (1.4-ounce, $1.09), king-size (2.8-ounce, $1.79), and miniatures (9.3-ounce, $4.09) versions.
The company promises “a few more tricks up its sleeve.” I hope those tricks make it to store shelves before I’m put in jail for burning houses down.
