There was only one way for Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase and the Cincinnati Bengals to celebrate the AFC Championship — smoking cigars.
While the two former LSU teammates ripped a stogie inside, poppa Chase and poppa Burrow lit one up outside Arrowhead Stadium.VICTORY CIGARS FOR THE (FORMERLY BAYOU) BENGALS!
The tradition of smoking cigars after a big win has been around for decades. However, after LSU won the national championship in 2019, Burrow made it his thing.
He and his Tiger teammates went into the locker room after the game and Joe Shiesty emerged with a cigar.
He had to put it out for the postgame press conference, but had it on him for the rest of the night.
It was an iconic moment.
Coach O even reminded him to take it easy.
Ever since, it has been what Joe Brrrr does. He and the Bengals did it after the NFC Divisional Round.
And he did it again on Sunday after coming back form an 18-point deficit and advancing to the Super Bowl.
As the team celebrated in the locker room, Chase went live on Instagram with Burrow. While the two former LSU teammates smoked cigars in the locker room, their fathers — Jimmy Chase and Jimmy Burrow — smoked cigars in the parking lot outside of the stadium as the sun set.
What a night for the two families. The Bengals could have drafted an offensive lineman in the 2021 NFL Draft. They trusted Burrow and drafted his guy. It worked out and now they’re headed to the Super Bowl.
After the game, Burrow flexed on everybody.
He won’t even peek at you. Brrrrr.
