It’s finally time for some college football! After what seemed like an eternity we have some great games to look forward to and on Saturday the 3:30 slate is headlined by what should be a great game between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Indiana Hoosiers. Here is what you should know so you can responsibly make the most out of this sweet offer.
Right off the bat I’m not sure that this Indiana team should be such big underdogs. Sure they have had some pretty bad seasons and struggled a lot recently, but Tom Allen knows the pressure is on and he has to get his guys to perform or he might be gone. Indiana got a solid amount of transfers especially on the defensive side which can hopefully help turn around a d squad that was one of the worst in college football last year. They also improved on offense bringing in some solid weapons on that side of the ball. Ohio State has some gaps in their team with no clear cut starting quarterback and an iffy secondary that has been known to let up a lot of yard to good passing attacks.
Now Ohio State seems primed to make a run in the postseason, but before we get ahead of ourselves they need to get off on the right foot with a win against the Hoosiers. On paper this should be a very winnable game, but first games can always be tricky especially for a team with expectations higher than Snoop Dogg. When it comes to skill positions the Buckeyes have arguably the best wide receiver and running back rooms in the nation which should do well against that Indiana defense unless their transfers make a world of difference. A lot is going to depend on who the QBs end up being and how well they perform. In my opinion, I think Ohio State has the better team with more support built around their quarterback, so I think they should win this game and Vegas agrees.
