There was an exciting matchup on the final weekend of college basketball action as Cal Poly and UC Riverside faced off in an overtime thriller.

The two teams traded blows for 45 minutes of play before Riverside escaped with a 73-72 victory.

On the final possession, though, a Cal Poly player made a massive mistake that cost his team a chance to win.

After UC Riverside hit a pair of free throws, the Mustangs needed a three-pointer to tie the game.

Brantly Stevenson took the ball up the court on that final possession, but he apparently either forgot the score of the game or lost track of how much time was remaining in the contest.
